Vampire??? 30 years old Man, Beheads Father, Drinks Blood, Bites Neck (photo)

A 30-year old man, identified as Chukwudi Nwode, a native of Egwudinagu Obegu Village in Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi State was, yesterday, paraded by the Ebonyi State Police Command for allegedly be-heading his 56-year-old biological father, Micheal Nwode Awam.

Parading the suspect, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Chris Anyanwu said that the suspect who returned to the village from Owerri, Imo State, where he works as a brick-layer, met his father at home when most of the family members had gone to the farm.
According to the PPRO, “it is suspected that immediately the suspect returned home and observed that there was no one else at home, he rushed into the house, grabbed a pestle and cutlass. He hit the man with the pestle and when he fell, he chopped off his head.
“Surprisingly, the suspect ensured that he chopped off the head from the base of the neck and, immediately, he succeeded in doing that, he began to suck the blood and chew up the neck, as he escaped from the village,” Anyanwu said.
According to Anyanwu, when the police went after him, having been alerted by neighbours who saw him running with the severed head and eating part of it, the suspect was waved the cutlass and threatened to kill anyone who dared to come close.
“Men of the command who went after him succeeded in overpowering him and the cutlass and pestle he used in be-heading his father was recovered while the severed body was deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki,” Anyanwu said.
The policeman further stated that the suspect has confessed to the crime and has been arraigned in court, adding that the cause of the action has not been ascertained.
When allowed to answer questions, the suspect confessed to the crime.
“I have been in Owerri, Imo State, for the past six years working as a brick-layer and each time a voice speaks to me in a vary hash tone, urging me to go to my village and behead my father. I left Owerri came to the village and perpetrated the act,” Nwode said. He also emphasised that he never had any misunderstanding with his father.
