ANOTHER BOMB EXPLOSIONS:- Several dead in Kano car explosion yesterday...see pictures!!

A car bomb explosion in Nigeria’s second largest city of Kano, northern Nigeria, has killed over 50 people, according to reports reaching P.M.NEWS.

The bomb exploded at about 10 pm. in Sabon Gari area of the city, where Nigerians from other states normally live, separate from the indigenes of Kano.


Early reports said the bomb ripped through a crowded entertainment spot in the city, on a busy road lined with bars in the predominantly Christian area of Sabon Giri.

Our reporter said he had already counted 17 bodies of victims from the explosion.

The Kano incident is the second major bombing of an urban centre after the 14 April bombing of Nyanya Bus Station on the outskirts of Abuja, which killed about 75 people.

Kano police spokesman Musa Majiya said it was too early to say if the blast in the Sabon Gari or “foreign quarter” of the North’s biggest city had caused any casualties.

But witness Abdul Dafar, who lives a block away, said he saw at least four dead bodies after the explosion.

“I heard a loud blast. And there was a lot of smoke. Soldiers came in to cordon off the place and ambulances were rushing people to hospital,” he said.
