Tragedy struck again in one of the campuses when a student of the Obafemi Awolowo
University (OAU), Ile-ife, Dipo Ige, took his own life under mysterious circumstances.

According to reports, Dipo committed the act yesterday owing to depression he was alleged to be suffering from.

He lived in an area close to the campus called ‘Asherifa’. It was gathered that before his death, the deceased wore a ‘lonely’ look and had an unpleasant attitude during lectures.

Rumours have it that Dipo’s resolve to kill himself is connected with too many ‘F’s (academic failure). He was found dead in his room. He reportedly sent a letter to his parents before the act.

He could easily have dropped out of school and learn a trade and still be what he wanted to be.
