Britain's flood continues to get worse. And now its residents are calling on the government headed by David Cameron to cut down on its aids to other nations in Africa and Asia. And use such funds to help its own flood victims.
But David Cameron, visiting flood-struck Dorset yesterday, has rejected such calls: ‘What needs to be spent will be spent. There’s no restraints, no artificial restraints. What needs to be done will be done and will be paid for. We told local councils they can spend the money they need and we would reimburse them and that’s what we have to keep on doing.’
Hundreds more homes are likely to flood over the coming days as southern England’s key rivers – the Severn and the Thames – continue to rise.
