Ten Best Nigerian Wedding Songs Of All Time.

Weddings are joyful occasions. So thinking and having a nice playlist of songs can add spice to the whole show and make the memory  unforgetable.  So here is a list of my best 10 wedding songs of all time. I hope you score me well.

1. Davido ‘Ekuro’ (Language: English and Yoruba)
I love this song, a lot. The words are so powerful. The song essentially talks about how no matter what i.e. rain, sunshine, storms etc., nothing can break the union between the  man and woman in their love relationship.  I am not too crazy about the official video.

2. ELDee – Today Today (Language: English and Pidgin)
Veteran musician and record label owner eLDee shuts it down with this song that is now a classic among Nigerians and guaranteed to be played at any wedding. It is a GREAT song. The lyrics are on point and really does capture the essence of what a Nigerian wedding is about.

3. Tiwa Savage  ft. Leo Wonder- Ife Wa Gbona (Language: English and Yoruba)
This song is too sweet and adorable for words. You just have to watch and listen.

4. Kayswitch ft. D’Banj – Obimo (Language: Ibo and English)
This song, albeit new, is sweet and what makes it even sweeter is the fact that non-Ibos are singing a song in Ibo. This is highly impressive.

5. Yes/No by Banky W (Language: English)
This song emerged almost a year ago and has shown itself to be a perfect wedding song. Watch to see how sweet it is.

6. No One Like You by P-Square (Language: English and Ibo)
There is not much to say than this is just a classic global hit. End of story.

7. Oyinye by P-Square ft. Rick Ross (Language: English and Ibo)
See #9. In recent times (a year and half ago), P-Square did a remix of this song, helping the song gain an even wider audience.

8.  Oko mi (my husband) by Ju Spice (Language: English, Yoruba)
Ladies, men always seem to do all the singing in Nigerian wedding songs. Ju Spice brings the female voice with this beautiful song. Her vocals are just beautiful to my ears. I really dig this song.

9. Oruka by Sunny Neji (Language: English, Yoruba)
This song is a classic among and in Nigerian circles and specifically at weddings. The visuals are great and again capture the cultural norms of Nigerian weddings.

 10. Flavour – Ada, Ada (Language: Ibo)
There is a reason why Flavour is called ‘Flavour.’ He does indeed bring the flavour to every music he creates. You will enjoy all the rich colors and visuals in the video for the song as well.

Ok there you have it!!  My 10 selections. Over to you. What are your favorite Nigerian wedding songs not on this list
